The Group BANK OF AFRICA first opened its doors in 1982. It currently has around 2,000 employees, working for nine commercial banks, three leasing companies, two life-insurance companies, two investment companies, one stockbroker, one representative office in Paris, and one IT subsidiary.
These companies total 130 operating and production sites in nine countries.

The BANK OF AFRICA Group’s 2003 activity report is illustrated by photos depicting Africa in the past and
Africa today… or tomorrow. Many of the old photographs come from the collection of postcards
belonging to Philippe David and Georges Meurillon, which have been compiled by the Image et Mémoire (I&M) Association,
whose purpose is to preserve these images as a valuable heritage for generations to come.
