The Chain of Hope Association have been in Senegal for the past 15 years providing ease of access to specialized health treatment, particularly for pediatric surgery.
This type of surgery is very expensive and the Bank of Africa Foundation – Senegal in early 2017 sponsored an operation which enable to treat dozens of children for with FCFA 20 Million.
But the project for which 70 children were already selected had to be rescheduled to the end of the year due to the unavailability of a respiratory equipment. Thanks to the active collaboration of the two associations, the equipment was bought and delivered in Dakar in less than one month; at the end of October for a cost of FCFA 25 Million. The medical intervention which mobilized four specialized pediatric surgeons, nurses and one kinesiotherapist were finally provided.
Of course, the equipment stays in the service of the Senegalese children who will be able to benefit for the surgery at the children hospital Albert Royer in a secure environment.
